Kriya for Detoxification – Wed 27 June 2012, 5am join us on Skype

Kundalini Yoga: Detoxification
Originally taught on May 29, 1984

We detoxify continuously throughout life. We process food, thoughts, and all forms of energy. When that flow is continuous and clear, we are steady and flexible. The trouble is that we accumulate more than we process. We become weighted down under the ash of metabolism and the remnants of old emotions. This set systematically moves the energy of the body and mind to keep you light and vitalized.—Gurucharan Singh Khalsa, Ph.D.

1. Lie down on your back with your legs straight. Your heels are
together and your toes point upward. Keeping your heels
together, spread your feet apart so that they both point out to
the sides. The right foot points to the right and the left foot
points to the left. Then close your feet so they once again point
straight upward. Continue quickly opening and closing your
feet, keeping your heels together. Continue for 4 minutes.

2. Remain on your back and put your hands under your head.
Raise your legs up about two feet and scissor the legs up and
down without letting the descending heel touch the ground.
Keep your legs straight, do not bend at the knees. This exercise
clears up inner anger when done vigorously. Continue for 4
minutes.

3. Lie down on your stomach and stick out your tongue. Exhale through your mouth and push up into Cobra Pose. Inhale through your mouth as you lower yourself back to the ground. Continue, keeping your breath and movement strong. This exercise removes toxins from the body. Continue for 6 1/2 minutes.

4. Turn over on to your back and bring your knees up to your chest. As the knees touch the chest, raise your arms up to 90 degrees (parallel to each other). Straighten your legs and lower your arms and legs back to the floor at the same time. Continue this movement vigorously for 3 minutes. This is a controlled movement. There should be no noise when the arms and legs touch the ground.

5. Sit in Easy Pose and revolve the torso around the base of the spine. This churning movement is done in a counter‐clockwise direction. Continue for 3 minutes. Move as quickly as you can during the last minute.

6. Stand up. Bend over and grab your ankles. While holding onto your ankles, sit down in Crow Pose and come back up. Continue this movement for 2 minutes.

7. Sit comfortably in Easy Pose with your spine straight. Chant Sat Nam, Sat Nam, Sat Nam, Sat Nam, Sat Nam,Sat Nam, Wahe Guru. One full repetition of  the mantra takes 7‐8 seconds. Continue for 11 minutes. To finish: Inhale deeply and stretch your arms over your head with your palms touching. Hold your breath 20‐40 seconds as you stretch your spine upward. Exhale. Repeat this sequence two more times.

What is a Kriya?

The word kriya means action. It is an action that leads to a complete manifestation such as a seed to bloom, a thought into actuality, a desire to commitment.

In Kundalini Yoga a kriya is a series of postures, breath, and sound that work toward a specific outcome. Practicing a kriya initiates a sequence of physical and mental changes that affect the body, mind, and spirit simultaneously. There are kriyas that support the liver, balance the glandular system, make you radiant, stimulate the pituitary, increase the flexibility of the spine, and many more. Each kriya has a different effect, but all work on all levels of your being.

what is meditation?

Meditations in Kundalini Yoga contain specific, practical tools that carefully and precisely support the mind and guide the body through the use of breath, mantra, mudra, and focus. The range and variety of meditation techniques in the Kundalini Yoga tradition is truly extraordinary. Yogi Bhajan passed on hundreds of meditations tailored to specific applications. There are meditations that reduce stress, work on addictions, increase vitality, and clear chakras, to name a few. While there exist many, many styles and approaches to meditation, what sets this approach to meditation apart is its precision, effectiveness, and practicality.

Summer Solstice 2012

Thanks to all who joined in our Summer solstice 2012  classes and meditation for the element of ether or spirit.  

We did such a beautiful Wahe Guru meditation and it was being used all over the world yesterday as we tapped into the energy of the longest day of the year for the Northern hemisphere.  It is recommended that you carry on this meditation for  next 40 days after solstice to help move us from the 4th dimension where we are being controlled by time and money to the 5th dimension where we are completely present and not controlled by our mind and worries.  Please have a look at the following link, where Nirinjan Kaur takes you through the whole 11min meditation.

Wed 6th June 2012 -Venus will transit the sun

Yogis, tomorrow Wednesday 6th June 2012 @ 7am Lankan time the planet Venus will transit the sun. This means that our energy is being realigned and recalibrated to that of a higher level of consciousness. To assist our mental, emotional and physical bodies with this change, please join me and 150,000 other souls all over the world by performing the meditation below. This is going to help you allow anything that does not serve you in your life to flow away whilst letting loving energy to envelope you and bring gratitude for all that you have.

Instructions:
1. Relax your mind and body by watching your breath for a few minutes.

2. Visualize a pillar of electric blue Light emanating from the Galactic Central Sun, going through your body to the center of the Earth. Keep this pillar of Light active for a few minutes. Then visualize a loving feminine presence in the shape of a beautiful Goddess descending from the sky and entering your physical body. If you are female, this presence will harmonize your inner woman and make you more loving. If you are male, this presence will make you more balanced in your actions. Stay united with that presence for a while.

3. Visualize bright new spiritual future for humanity, with men and women in perfect understanding, with our society growing beyond need for wars and conflicts as all dark entities, physical and non-physical, are removed from our planet. Visualize all wounds of humanity being healed, all humanity being inspired and guided with everybody having their own connection with their own Soul and the Source in perfect balance of their inner male and female aspects.
Please do this visualization as instructed and do not change it as otherwise it will not have the desired effect.
