Create this fab treat which is a good alternative to sugar and fat laden processed desserts. Try to eat this early afternoon as opposed to after dinner. Sweet treats are easier to absorb earlier on in the day when your digestive system is at its active.
300g of pitted dates
200g of soaked raisins or sultanas
4 Tbsp of raw coca powder or dark coco powder(organic if possible)
500g of raw cashew or brazil nuts
100g of flax or linseed
100g of sunflower seeds
300g of roughly chopped Almonds
sprinkle with sesame or more dark coco powder
1. Place the dates, sultanas, coco powder, cashew nuts and 300ml of water in a food processor and blend until you have a smooth paste.
2. Mix through the seeds and chopped almonds.
3. Spread the mixture evenly on to a 10cm x20cm baking tray lined with cling film or baking paper. Score lines or shapes into the mixture. Freeze for 1 hour
4.Cut into 24 pieces and serve with coco powder sprinkled on top or sesame seeds.
YOU CAN KEEP THIS IN THE FRIDGE FOR UP TO 5 DAYS. OR TAKE PIECES DIRECTLY OUT OF THE FREEZER AND EAT LIKE A FROZEN DESSERT.
