Plant the seeds of your future with your Presence – 6-7.30pm MON 25 April 2016 Kundalini Yoga @ Prana Lounge

Yesterday I really felt and understood the value of being present in each moment. I went to a Whirling Dervish Workshop run by Sufis who practice the Religion of love. It was so beautiful, so inspiring, we all left feeling full in our heart, uplifted and humble in the presence of the ultimate love when the finite self joins the infinite self.

Your greatest task in life is to maximize the value of your presence. Fill your life daily with Yoga, Dervish whirling and meditation. By coordinating your movement, with your breathing, with your speaking — all into a united team . . . asanas, pranayams and mantras all as one.

With this united-union (original meaning of the word yoga), you engage your brain into a lucid, theta state; your body becomes at ease with effortless efforts, and your emotions are transformed into devotions. This manifests — this is true yoga — the total union between all of your parts . . . being one with everything and unconditionally connected. When you’re in this higher state, and anything gets dumped on you, it becomes fertilizer for the seeds of your ideas. At the very least, you think bright thoughts; have a moment of forgiveness; you use words like inspiration and innovation, which lead to actually living in brighter terms. Sounds idealistic, but yogis have practiced and perfected this for thousands of years. They were the first ones to evolve past the pursuit of instinctual revenge and into this idealism . . . they found it works. Find the fertilizer in your nasty moments; plant seeds with your presence; act in a lucid state of ease and effortless effort, and remain united with the true value of your ideals and your ideas.

Have Dominion so you do not have to Control Life! 6-7.30pm Kundalini Yoga Mon 18 April 2016

DSC04512

When I wake up and do my morning practice especially with a long meditation, I feel really in my centre, relaxed and present. In this state I am ready to face the challenges of the day because most certainly they will be on there way. When we can meet each moment from present awareness instead of a pre-planned expectation of how the world should be, we come into our Dominion. We are not looking to control a situation instead we can come to each moment and each challenge with a curious innocence. This will allow the person or moment to open up the solution to any challenge.

As a human being there is a distinct need for being approved of, this comes from the fact we only survived as being part of a pack. But if we let this need dominate our lives we end up trying to control situations instead of feeling our dominion or at home in any situation.

This need for approval, in human behavioural patterns, is driven by instincts arising from our second chakra. The second chakra is ruled by water and water is a solution. Therefore, one of the main purposes of the second chakra is to find solutions. When your sense is that you are not approved of, your entire second chakra will become disrupted. This is a ‘millions of years old’ instinctual driving force that will dominate your life until you once again experience approval. During this disruption you have a hard time finding answers to your questions . . . a hard time finding solutions to your problems . . . you will also question your solutions to the point of rendering them worthless.

The key is to create a form of self-approval; this is also known as self-realization. In Kundalini yoga we call this being ‘self-sensory’. Your daily practice and being present can bring you back to source. If not you end up is walking around in a state of low self-esteem until you discard this feeling and replace it by blaming others, feeling stressed and trying to control situations.

The Practice

As one can see, this demonstrates the significance and importance of creating a daily practice that provides for self-reflection, a meditative orientation, and ultimately the goal of self-approval. Any form of physical discipline helps in this process and Kundalini yoga is one of the disciplines that can be used. Meditation is also extremely helpful and one of the most introspective forms of meditation is to meditate on the breath. Sit in a comfortable setting and simply become aware that you are breathing and nothing else. After doing this for three minutes reflect on how wonderful it is to be you. Do every day and after a week or two you will begin to experience the sensation of self that is charming and endearing. This is your gift to you— give this gift every day.

Resonate with Mother Earth – 6-7.30pm Mon 4 April @Prana Lounge, Col 7

The earth is resonating at 7.83 Hz per second, this is a very special frequency. It is the same frequency as when the brain slows down to a Theta wave, which corresponds to us feeling relaxed, happy and joyful. The German physicist Professor W.O.Schumann of the Technical University of Munich discovered that there are electromagnetic standing waves in the atmosphere, within the cavity formed by the surface of the earth and the ionosphere. The earth’s electromagnetic frequency is called The Schumann resonance. Now you are thinking why I am blogging about electromagnetics again? Well, because it is so important to understand our physical, emotional and mental wellbeing is interdependent on electromagnetics.

In fact, the physical condition of early astronauts deteriorated severely while in outer space because they were away from the earth’s magnetic field and resonance. The problem was solved by introducing the ‘Schumann Simulator’ into all space shuttles, a magnetic pulse generator mimicking the Earth’s frequency. This demonstrates the simple fact that we cannot be healthy if disconnected from the natural biological frequency of the earth.

The Practice

We need to chant, sing, hum, listen to gong, crystal bells, white noise, breathe deeply and meditate, every day to change the frequency of our brain to resonate with mother earth. Spend time walking barefoot on grass, on the beach, etc. and just feeling yourself connect with Earth this most elemental force.  We will be chanting RA, MA, DA, SA, SA, SAY, SO HUNG. (Sun, Moon, Earth, Breath, Breath, Breath, I am thou) in a circle for 11mins visualising the earth and sending healing to our Mother as she heals and protects us in return.
