Trust and Relax – Kundalini Yoga 19 Dec, 6.15-7.30pm @ Prana Lounge

Relaxing and feeling all will be well has been an interesting challenge this week. It is easy to feel trust when things are going well but very difficult when life dissolves into chaos. What we all really need to work on is a change to our inner reality, to create the change we want to see. Keeping the body relaxed is important. We may think we are relaxing our body whilst watching a movie, chatting to friends, on the phone or internet, but are you really? Just notice your posture next time you are online, watching a movie or on the phone. This can be quite a challenge as we tend to become unconscious when we start doing these tasks. Try it out this week.

True relaxation of the body is surrendering. It is not as easy as it sounds, you do it every night to fall asleep. You may also do it during a massage, yoga class or meditation. It is as essential to the body as exercise. That is why the combination of body movement and conscious breathing which relaxes us in yoga is so beneficial to so many people. The more the body relaxes, the more the mind relaxes and then you can surrender yourself to the situation. This does not mean you have to accept everything that happens to you, but you must accept it at first, before you take action even in opposition of it. The act of acceptance and surrender, essentially trusting that everything is happening through you for your own best interest, will allow the action to be taken, the solution discovered and the dream to come true. This Christmas and New Year holiday make it a point to spend time every day in moderate exercise and deep relaxation. Enjoy the feeling and then start your day or work. Notice the difference. Also practice the mantra Humee Hum, Brahm Hum….what is to be already is. Sat nam love Fi x
